Mattress Air Pumps

You see those enticing commercials on TV and can’t help wondering just how comfortable an air mattress for a bed really is. It is true that sleeping on an air mattress can be very comfortable. But, have you ever wondered how the air bed gets inflated? Obviously you don’t blow it up like you would a balloon.

Air Mattress Pumps Keep Your Bed Comfy

An air mattress without the proper pump to inflate it would make it pretty much useless. So, in order to enjoy a good night’s sleep on your air mattress you will need a pump to inflate it to the proper pressure. There are basically two types of pumps: electric pumps and manual pumps and they each have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Manual pumps are good for camping, outdoor picnics, beaches, etc. where there is no electricity available. Manual pumps come in two flavors: hand operated and foot operated. Using either type of manual pump can be a slow and tiring experience but eventually you will fill up your air mattress and get a good night’s sleep. An electric pump is perfect for indoor use where access to electricity is not an issue. Electric pumps are extremely fast and effortless to use making them an ideal solution.

Some air mattresses come with their own pumps built right in. Some cheaper air mattresses include pump that is almost always manually operated. While this might be fine for outdoor use in a pinch you might want to consider buying a good electric pump if you use the bed often indoors.
